August Time

about

August is the month my dear son was born, and the month he died. Every year, it comes as a time of deep love, sadness, remembering. It is such a sacred time. It takes me whether I'm ready or not, and now I accept it, I know it, and it's beautiful.

lyrics

She come again
August time
I feel her hand
Reaching out for mine
Take me soft
Walk with me to the line
It's dyin' time

She lay me down
Underground
She sends me low
Where my love
Grows and grows

She makes for me
A bed of leaves
To lay my head
She lets me weep
The darkest earth
Holds you my love and this week
It's holdin' me

She lay me down
Underground
She sends me low
Where my love
Grows and grows
